How to Check GST Registration & ARN Status Online – A Step-by-Step Guide

Typically, a GST registration application is processed within 3 to 7 working days after submission. However, it is advisable to regularly check your GST registration status online on the GST portal to ensure smooth processing and avoid unnecessary delays.

What is GST ARN Status?

Once a GST registration application is successfully submitted, the GST portal issues an Application Reference Number (ARN). This ARN helps taxpayers track the status of their application and take necessary actions based on the progress.

Methods to Check GST Registration Status Online

1. Track GST Registration Status Without Logging In

Follow these steps to check your GST registration status without logging into the GST portal:

Step 1: Visit the GST Portal and navigate to Services → Registration → Track Application Status.
Step 2: From the Module drop-down, select “Registration.”
Step 3: Enter the ARN or SRN (Service Request Number) received via email, input the Captcha code, and click SEARCH.

Note: The SRN is generated when a GST registration application is filed through the MCA portal.

After this, the status of your GST registration will appear on the screen. Different stages of the application are displayed in different colors, indicating the current phase.

Important:

  • If a taxpayer withdraws the registration application, only two stages will be displayed in the detailed status.
  • You can view complete details of your registration application status in this section.

2. Checking GST Registration Status by Logging In

Taxpayers can also check the status of their GST registration application by logging into the GST portal using their credentials. Once logged in, follow the same steps mentioned earlier to track your application status.
